Annotation: The lectures touche upon two branches in historical comparative and typological linguistics: naturalism and psychologism. There are given the definition of such notions as “naturalism”, “psychologism”, “associative psychology”. Lectures explain the principles of Schleicher’s theory, the theory of Steinthal, the basis of Vundt’s ethnopsychological conception and give an outline of Potebnya’s ideas and his Kharkive Linguistic School
